Here you will find definitions of some things you might not understand. If there is something you do not understand and would like to be explained, please contact an admin to help you with your solution.

God Modding
"God Modding" is in essence when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try.
-It can be killing or injuring a character without the player's express permission.
-It can be when they simply can’t be hit and dodge all attacks or anything for this matter aimed at them.
-It can also be using other characters that other people RP with. In other words, if you do not RP as Legolas, then you cannot have Legolas say anything, or do anything, without the player's express permission. The absolute worst is when they make out another character to be what they’re not, just to make their own character seem superior. They make others seem weak, screaming for help, when they’ve made it quite clear about their advantages and strengths. This is called power-play. It’s a strain of God-Modding, but instead of just being irritating, it’s offensive to boot.
This is a prime example of God Modding:

Player A: Punches Player B
Player B: Dodges attack, grabs Player A and throws him. Player A flies at Player B, who warps behind him and slashes Player A in the back.

PostSubject: Power Playing   Sun Aug 01, 2010 2:31 am

Power Playing

Power playing occurs in role playing, and it's when you control someone else's character, as well as your own, without the other person's permission
Say that I play Bob, and someone else is Susie.

Bob watched Susie as she started to walk away. he ran up to her, the girl of his dreams, and yelled, "SUSIE, DON"T LEAVE ME!" She turned around, and glared at him, with resentment in her eyes, before walking up to him, slapping him, and then walking away again

As you can see, if this were a post, I'd be typing Bob's actions, as well as Susie's. The fact that I'm typing Susie's actions is power playing.

Tag

A tag is when a name is posted in the title of the thread or first post whom are specific to that thread. If your name has not been tagged, then you are not permitted to post in that thread.

EG:
Let's say I am Role Playing as Bob.

Name of the thread: The secrecy of Time (Tags: Tom, Jerri and Hazel)

I am not permitted to post here. I may read, but I may not post.

Although, if you wish to post, you may PM the creator of the thread and ask. What ever their answer might be is a final one.

PostSubject: Leaving For Dead   Sun Aug 01, 2010 2:48 am

Leaving for Dead.

Leaving for Dead occurs when there is a multi-person player role play (lets say five people for example) and three go offline. The remaining two post about an entire page or more of posts for the characters. When the others come back they find a greatly annoying surprise for them. Sometimes, they may request a quick fill-in as an easy way to catch up. But constantly typing up what has just happened can get frustrating, or some people may not do it at all. Bottom line, be courteous of other role players and restrain from posting a million posts between two people.

If you are to be leaving for some time and you know this, please let the people you are posting with know by either making a post in that specific thread or in the vacations or Out Of Character board so as they can carry on thier posting without the thought of disrupting or making you aggrivated by proceeding ahead.

PostSubject: Non-Moderator   Sun Aug 01, 2010 2:59 am

Non-Moderator

A Non-Moderator is the 'moderator' of a thread. They create a thread and so create the rules. This is only used in the board 'Character specific'. It is their thread and so everyone whom joins that thread must follow the rules (If any) supplied by the creator, this includes the creator. If you find someone whom is not following the rules of thread, please address them in a kindly manner.
Do not forget our Site Rules. They apply to everyone above all other rule standards.

PostSubject: Mini-Plot   Sun Aug 01, 2010 3:02 am

Mini-Plot

The ever popular mini-plot is born when there is already a plot to the role play (eg: the characters must find some sort of sacred diamond to restore peace to the world), then someone wants to add their own twist to another person's role play. For example: the character may start to have flash backs of past lives that then intrude on their present and side track the entire main-plot entirely. This is often annoying for the creator of the role play and can be irritating for others also.

Mature/Explicit

When referred to as "Mature" or "Explicit" in a thread, this means that there is an extreme amount of gore inside the thread, or there is sexual content.
Members under the age of 15 will enter these threads on their own accord, but know they have been warned.
